Bucharest - Curtea de Arges - Cozia - Sibiu - Sibiel - Medias - Sighisoara - Biertan - Brasov - Bran - Snagov - Mogosoaia
Day 1 - Airport – Curtea de Arges – Cozia - Sibiu
You will be picked up from the airport and driven tu Curtea de Arges, capital of Valahia during the 14th century. There you will visit the ruins of the Old Princely Court built by Vlad’s ancestors and Manole’s Monastery, built in the same century by Dracula’s grandfather, Prince Mircea the old. The beautiful Olt Valley takes you to Sibiu, once the richest town in Transylvania. On route stop and visit Cozia Monastery. Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation at RAMADA 4* hotel, in Sibiu (D)
Day 2 - Sibiu – Sibiel – Medias – Sighisoara
Today involves a comprehensive tour of Sibiu and the three main squares around which the whole of the old town is built. You may enter the Evangelic Cathedral – the symbol of the town and also visit the Orthodox Church, which bears a striking resemblance to St. Sofia Church in Istanbul. Sibiel is a small village near Sibiu and it houses Romania’s richest collection of glass icons (Glass Icon Museum). Lunch at Reghina Farm House in Sibiel. In the afternoon, you will drive to Sighisoara via Medias – another town of traditional German culture where you will make a short visit to the old center. Dinner at hotel. Day 3 - Sighisoara – Biertan – Sighisoara
In the morning you can take a walking tour of Sighisoara, including entrance to the Clock Tower – which now doubles as the local history museum, and to the Church on the Hill. You will have some time to explore the citadel on your own. Sighisoara is a part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage designation. Continue to the Saxon village of Biertan where you will see the fortress church that is one of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites. The church hosts the largest wing altar in Romania and was used as the residence of the Lutheran bishop of Transylvania for over 300 years. Return to Sighisoara and explore the city yourself. Day 4 - Sighisoara – Brasov – Sinaia
In the morning you will travel to Brasov for a city tour including the Black Church – the largest Gothic building in Souteast Europe. You’ll also see St Nicholas Church and the first school in Romania. After a leisurely afternoon in this charming city, you will move on to Sinaia, a well-known mountain resort. Dinner at hotel. Accommodation at PALACE hotel, in Sinaia (B,D)
Day 5 - Sinaia – Bran – Sinaia
In the morning you can visit more of Sinaia’s treasures including Peles castle, the fine former summer residence of King Carl I of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen. The Sinaia monastery is a beautiful example of the Valahian-Byzantine style and reputed to be the first building in Sinaia. In the afternoon you move on to Bran and visit the castle built in the 14th century to protect the borders between Transylvania and Valahia – of course it is better known as the residence of the gruesome vampire Dracula. Day 6 - Sinaia – Snagov – Mogosoaia – Bucharest
On the way through the picturesque Prahova River Valley you will visit the monastery situated on a small island in Snagov Lake where, it is supposed, Vlad Tepes or Dracula is buried. Visit Mogosoaia Palace and continue to Bucharest. Dinner at Caru cu Bere Restaurant. Accommodation and dinner at GOLDEN TULIP VICTORIA hotel, in Bucharest (B, D)
Day 7 - Bucharest
Get acquainted with the Romanian capital, once nicknamed "Little Paris". During the tour you will visit the House of People, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon and the open air Village Museum. Listen how the Romanian people finally succeeded to topple the last communist dictator in eastern Europe in the Revolution Square. After a short stop at the Palace of Justice, your tour will bring you also to the Romanian Athenaeum, the Opera House, the National Military Club, the Military Academy and the Triumphal Arch. Dinner at Monte Carlo Restaurant. Accommodation and dinner at GOLDEN TULIP VICTORIA hotel, in Bucharest (B, D)
