Plovdiv and Starosel

Morning departure to Plovdiv - Bulgaria's second largest city declared European capital of culture for 2019. Plovdiv is a city with millenium old history, contemorary to Troy and Mycenae. It has preserved ruins from Roman, Ottoman and Bulgarian Revival period. During our city tour you will see the Roman Forum and Stadium as well as the Roman theater dating back to the 2nd c. AD. Visit the House of Hindliyan, a typical example of Plovdiv Revival architecture, which once belonged to a reknowned merchant. Have a walk in Plovdiv old town where you will see other beautifully decorated houses, magnificent churches, the ancient fortress wall and charming paved streets. A possibility to explore on your own the Ethnographic Museum, The House of Klianti - Plovdiv's newest attraction, an Old Pharmacy, many art galleries, the church of st. Constantine and Helena and many more. Feel the atmosphere of this artistic town and spend a memorable lunch break in one of the many charming taverns in the old town.

In the afternon, continue to Starosel and visit the largest underground temple in the Balkans found in the area under Chetinyova Mound.
Possibility to visit Starosel wine and SPA complex - an excellent example for a modern enterpreneurship combining vine-growing, wine-production and hospitality industry. Enjoy a wine tour and wine tasting in the degustation hall made as a replica of the nearby Thracian Tomb,
