If you would explore Bulgaria's scenery on an antique and comfortable train without demanding much luxury and VIP service, then you could try out the narrow gauge line starting at the town of Septemvri in Souther Bulgaria and ending up at the village of Dobrinishte at the foot of the Pirin Mountains. The train passes by charming old villages, picturesque landscapes, reaching the highest railway station on the Balkans - Avramovi kolibi (1267m) for which is offen referred as the Alpine Railways on the Balkans.
