Borovets is less than 1 hour drive from the capital city of Sofia, which makes it an easy mountain escape for both Bulgarians and foreigners. It is the oldest Bulgarian winter resort developed as a hunting destination of the former Bulgarian royalties. Today, the resorts attract thousands of visitors for ski sports from all over Europe.
