The Celebrations of the Bulgarian oil rose Damascena is the most notable Bulgarian Festival attended by thousands of guests from the country and abroad. The Festival is held out in Kazanlak every first weekend of June when the beautiful roses are in bloom and their enchanting fragnance spreads over the vast fields in the Valey of Roses.
Day 1 - Sofia - Stara Zagora - Kazanlak
Our first stop in today’s journey will be the town of Stara Zagora. A city with over 7000 years of history, the town may surprise its visitors with many cultural and historical landmarks. Visit the Regional History
Museum; "The Neolithic dwellings" Museum, presenting the best-preserved dwellings in Europe from the middle of 6th century BC; the Antique Forum of Augusta Trayana, The Museum of Religions. Continue

Kazanlak for an overnight.
Day 2 - Kazanlak - Hissarya - Starosel - Sofia
Morning drive to a rose field near Kazanlak and take part in a rose picking ritual. The ritual is demonstrated by young girls dressed up in national costumes accompanied with many songs and dances. The feast
then moves to the town’s main square, where you will visit ethnographic museum and see the process of rose boiling. After lunch, drive back to Sofia. En route have a short stop in the town of Hissarya to see
the Roman fortresses as well as Thracian Tomb in Starosel. Late arrival in Sofia.
