Experience the magic of southwestern Bulgaria. Learn about the life and the paranormal abilities of the most famous Bulgarian prophetess - Vanga. Visit the village of Rupite, where Baba Vanga lived and was buries, and for which lifetime she claimed that there was a special energy. Stroll through the smallest town in Bulgaria - Melnik with only 400 inhabitants and try the famous Melnik wine which was reportedly the favorite of Sir Whinstone Churchill. Take your time and visit the nearby Rozhen monastery which reveals spectacular views of the surrounding hills.
Day 1 - Sofia - Hursovo winery - Rozhen Monastery - Melnik
Departure to Melnik - the smallest Bulgarian town with less then 400 inhabitants. En route visit Hursovo winery and have a wine tour. After lunch, explore Melnik's tourist attrcations. The town is associated with the impressive
sandstone pyramids in its outskirts
resembling giant mushrooms and towers. During the tour you will visit the Kordopulou’s house (named after the merchant Kordopulou to whom it once belonged). Today it is one of the largest wine cellars in Melnik. Continue
to the nearby Rozhen monastery – one of
the few well preserved medieval monasteries in Bulgaria. Back to Melnik for an overnight.
Day 2 - Melnik - Rupite - Sandanski - Sofia
After breakfast, we will depart to village Rupite - a small village on the bank of Struma river where the Bulgarian prophetess Vanga lived and for which she claimed that had a special energy. Visit her temple dedicated to
Virgin Mary. Spend some free time in Sandanski
known for its curative climate and depart back to Sofia.
