3000 mountaineers on Cherni Vrah

3000 people climbed Cherni Vrah over this weekend. The event was on the occasion of 122 years since the first organized tourist climb of Cherni Vrah, initiated by the famous Bulgarian writer and naturalist Aleko Konstantinov. On August 27, 1895, he led a group of mountain lovers to a hike to Cherni Vrah, which commenced the Bulgarian Tourist Union. This year's event took place on two routes - from Chalets “Aleko”and “Golden Bridges”. The climb is traditionally held every year in the last week of August.
